I think you are wasting your time.  For people like Peter, all that matters is preventing immigration. Not the economy, not any coherent foreign policy, just straightforward hatred of immigrants.  That’s regardless of whether they come from the EU, or elsewhere. The laziest thing to do is to blame the EU.
 Share this content via...

It’s the pro Brexit cabinet that worries me as they continue to demonstrate their incompetence in so many directions. However this is their specialist subject so let’s see how it goes. A trade deal will be agreed near the 31st December deadline. Either way I've no worries if a trade deal is not agreed and WTO rules apply. It's win win for anyone who has pride in their country and wanted to and voted to leave the dreadful EU. I will be glad when its all over, then we can get to what affects the people. We used to have a budget every twelve months, in some years we have had more than one budget. We will probably have one in November, there has certainly been enough hapening to have an emergency budget, like we did in 2010 I wonder where the pain will be felt? At the moment everything looks great, but I dont think it is!
 Share this content via...

This turned out to be nothing more than scaremongering from the remain camp. The pain being felt is a consequence of Covid-19 and not Brexit. Instead of a budget, they shoved £70 billion quid into the coffers using quantitative easing, effectively kicking the can down the road (bit of a metaphor for everything Brexit really).  The pain being felt is a consequence of Covid-19 and is exacerbated by Brexit - fixed your last sentence for you
 Share this content via...

It's seems the only ones still panicking about Brexit are the wealthy middle classes - at a loss to explain why the sky hasn't fallen in after we voted to Leave (as many of them truly believed that it would) and desperate to inform us that it will happen imminently.  Brexit is now just a middle class anxiety.  Working class people are intensely relaxed about Brexit and have moved on. Edited August 29, 2020 by Car Boot
 Share this content via...

All issues have become secondary to those related to the effects of the pandemic and to believe that Brexit happened at the stroke of midnight is totally naive. We have yet to experience either the benefits that you believe in or the probable downside ,as others think possible.
 Share this content via...
