Turkey is not an EU member, the cars produced there were for Honda's non-EU/internal market.

Turkey is not in the European Customs Union!

Goods may travel between the two entities without any customs restrictions, but goods entering the EU from Turkey *are* subject to tariffs.

Hence, Honda never produced cars for the EU market in Turkey, it would not be economically viable to do so.

Turkey is not in the European Customs Union!

Turkey has a separate customs union arrangement with the EU, that is distinctly different.

Quite correct, it is in  'a'  Customs Union.

Sorry but you are wrong.

There are no tariffs on motor vehicles from Turkey.

Most Ford Transit's sold in the EU are built in Turkey, Hyundai, Fiat, Renault and Toyota all build there. Germany and France alone import $7b worth of Turkish built cars.

The only reason Honda Turkey didn't bother with EU sales was that it was a very small plant

that barely coped with it's domestic market...Swindon coped easily. Honda just decided the European manufacturing operations were no longer worth it with their small volumes.

Brexit is going swimmingly.

Abbeydale Road Tesco was a pretty sad sight last night. Empty shelves all over the place. No milk at all. None. Not a pint.

Not enough drivers, you see. Some pinged, but many who can’t get visas.

Well done the 37%, nice to see your project working so well.

Those drivers that are around are seeing big wage increases to keep them and big signing on bonuses if they do move.

Alot of drivers are seeing north of £40k to near £50k/year.  Those on considerably less are off like a shot to more employers willing to dig deeper and pay more.

That should help keep inflation under control.

I stand corrected!

Glad we can agree that the closure of the Turkey plant was completely irrelevant to the discussion.

Someone has to pay for it, the end customer.

Indeed, increased costs for no increase in productivity -> rampant inflation!
