A couple of quick questions: given Brexit is only currently half done (baked?) can we expect this cost to rise?

Secondly, given the latest attempts to complete Brexit were met with a resolute 'non' when exactly can we expect to get Brexit (re)done?

I’m passing through today, so obligatory favourite thread visit 🙂

Brexit is allegedly costing £440m per week, according to the Bank of England. Whether that is accurate or not, is moot: whatever the actual cost is, yes, regrettably it will continue to rise for a while yet. The ongoing supply chain crisis (not only in the UK, but beyond) is fast compounding these costs.

Secondly, regrettably again, you should not expect Brexit to get ‘done’, or ‘redone’, for quite some years yet. If you’re talking about actually getting somewhere, pragmatically speaking, rather than politically.

That's because Leave voters are Gentlemen and Ladies who behave with dignity and humbleness.

So how does that apply to Boris?

British holidaymakers will have to pay a £6 fee when they travel to the EU  under plans drawn up by the bloc.

Exactly what people voted for, its only £6

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5657345/British-holidaymakers-heading-Europe-face-6-visa-fee-Brexit.html

At least 482 migrants crossed the English Channel in 21 small boats on Wednesday, the Home Office has said, setting a new record for a single day. The Ministry of Defence had earlier confirmed that an exercise on its firing range at Hythe had to be stopped when people landed on the beach there. According to Home Office figures, there have now been 10,260 arrivals in 435 boats so far in 2021.

Something which has got worse now that our Government are in control and our Johnson having to prove Brexit is working, which it is not.

There are job shortages worldwide, but is our Government attempting to recruit NHS staff worldwide, as they have always done?

Will pretending that thousands dont leave the UK for other countries help our NHS, it needs international workers.

Our government were fully in favour of it before the referendum.

UK backed plan to charge non-EU travellers to enter Europe:

Quote

The British government was one of the “biggest supporters” of EU plans to require non-EU nationals to obtain authorisation and pay a fee to enter the bloc’s passport-free travel zone, the Guardian has learned.

David Cameron’s government backed the idea when it was floated by the European Commission in April 2016, three months before the EU referendum, when few foresaw the €7 (£5.95) fee would one day hit British travellers.

Brexit supporters reacted with fury this week when the commission said plans for a European travel information and authorisation system (Etias) were on track to come into force for travellers in late 2022.

Despite claims of “Brexit punishment”, the idea, which is intended to increase border security, long predates Britain’s EU divorce and applies to citizens from about 60 countries.

Brexit is going swimmingly.

Abbeydale Road Tesco was a pretty sad sight last night. Empty shelves all over the place. No milk at all. None. Not a pint.

Not enough drivers, you see. Some pinged, but many who can’t get visas.

Well done the 37%, nice to see your project working so well.
