Still no facts from your side...

"when her own allies are bragging about how she worked with Johnson’s new spin doctor, Allegra Stratton, and head of policy, Munira Mirza, to tackle a “boys’ club” in No 10, it’s clear that at the very least she wants to be seen as influential. "

"it is perhaps unsurprising that there was resistance to Cain’s candidate for the post: Ellie Price of the BBC.  It went to one of the well-established front-runners, who is on very good terms with Symonds: Allegra Stratton.

It was then that she allegedly tried to stop the Prime Minister hosting a Covid crisis meeting to deal instead with a newspaper report claiming she wanted to get rid of their beloved Jack Russell cross Dilyn.

(Yes, I do note the term allegedly.)

A second source yesterday told ConHome that Symonds would ring Johnson over and over again until he did what she wanted.

So basically you have press from all sides of the political landscape repeating the same message - she is influencing the decisions that the PM is making for the nation.

Now back to the facts about Brexit - can we have some FACTS about the benefits of Brexit?

Plus, please remember - conjecture is not fact.

Please?

I come back to you, where is the factual evidence, that this whole thread is based on, on the benefit of brexit?

Me bold.

The whole thread is not based on what you seem to believe it is and that is the benefit of brexit. It is actually entitled "The Consequences Of Brexit" - part 9.

Now back to the </silence>

And as you will have gathered from the foregoing, the majority of contributors see the consequences as being damaging to the economy.

A thread entitled “The benefits of Brexit” would have been interesting, but very short.

At the risk of going over a lot of old ground, (& it's clear that other posters are starting to get fed up with this side argument, not related to the thread), I've read the links with the exception of The Spectator, which has a pay wall & I still see much of 'Close sources say', 'Its speculated that' & 'Some are of the opinion' phrases, without any concrete evidence that Ms Symonds has any influence on national Policy.  Yes, she may not have got on with the likes of Cummings but this does not prove she has any say or influence on national Policy.

Think about it?  If any of this speculative nonsense even had a whiff of truth about it, you wouldn't Labour be on it in a shot, especially given then troubles they have lately, it would have been a gift to them?  As stated previously, unsubstantiated nonsense.

Back to the actual thread. If you want my views on the benefits of Brexit, feel free to look back over the numerous postings I've made, not only in this thread, 'Part 9' but also the subsequent ones.

But as for some benefits, for starters we're no longer part of a supposed 'community' that clearly has more divisions than the English & Scottish football league put together.  An organisation that perpetuates supposed rules for all its members such as budgetary control with punative financial penalties, except of course if those breaking the rules happen to be France or Germany.

A spend thrift organisation that spends a fortune on promotion of environmental programmes but thinks nothing of the environmental impact of packing up & moving the whole circus from Brussels to Strasbourg just for a week then back again, once a month.

As I've said above.  All along these lines & much more are covered in previous postings.

Looking forward to 01/01/2021 & taking the naysayers along for the ride.  The small minority, can either help make this work for their country or sit on the sidelines & moan.

and unless you are poor, according to the British government ('s latest analysis).

It's looking pretty grim in today's news, after the Guardian's leaks over the weekend alleging a deal proved unreliable.

After Barnier's message to EU ambassadors this morning, if the UK government re-tables the objectionable clauses in the draft Internal Market Bill tonight, then it would be curtains on chances of a deal this side of 1st January.

Which would actually be best for all concerned, I think, as it would allow some weeks (or months, even) of quiet, to take some heat back out of the whole situation.

The oven ready deal appears to be a frozen turkey that won’t be defrosted in time for Christmas.

Brinkmanship of the highest order.

There is none, at least none has been provided  - please provide us some

One fact that cannot be denied is that we're avoiding the probability of "Ever Closer Union"-  which would be the biggest "Consequence of Remaining".

Total shambles. The best we can hope for is a poor deal that leaves us all poorer. Our spineless PM can’t stand up to the UKIP tendency in his party, so we are all being sold down the river.

Never mind though, the narrative is shifting to absolve all of the extremist Brexiters from blame. Apparently, this is all the fault of the remaininers.

Yeah, ok then.

You do know that Leave won the EU referendum?

I do.

That’s why I’m amused that there is a move to blame remainers for this mess.

You do know that it’s a mess, don’t you.
