Trade agreements between countries are changing all the time and if a majority of us wanted to leave ours, then we can, and have. Time to stop weeping. You seem to be as mistaken as John Major about how much influence Europe has. We were not allowed by the EU to make trade agreements at all until we entered this last phase of leaving on January the first last. 1 minute ago, Longcol said:   Because most of the rest are members of different trading blocs.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_bloc#:~:text=A trade bloc is a,eliminated among the participating states.     And we can just as easily do the same. Do you mean that we’ve had the best part of a year to do the simplest trade deal in history?  Additionally, we’ve been hammering away at making trade agreements for a couple of years, with anyone who will still talk to us. So far, we have an underwhelming agreement with Japan and a disagreement about fish.  I can’t see it getting much better anytime soon.
 Share this content via...

Car Boot   10 #1259 Posted November 11, 2020 (edited) Why do Remainers have so little confidence in the UK to forge it's own destiny?  It's almost as if, to them, the UK is a brand new nation that only came into being in 1973.  It's also telling that the majority of Remainers voted the way they did in the referendum because of a fear of the consequences of Leaving the EU, not because they supported its neo-liberal global capitalist big business political union agenda. Heh, it only becomes "moaning" when the truth starts to get a bit itchy.  Before that, and until then, it's "Project Fear"  Just ask a Northern Irish consumer this morning: they've just been told by food retailers that supplies cannot guaranteed from January onwards  Edited November 11, 2020 by L00b
 Share this content via...
