We heard all that fake news about leavers changing their mind every day for over three years after the 2016 eu referendum.  You need to wake up and smell the coffee as we have already left the eu and it's too late for another referendum thanks to all those leavers who didn't change their mind and gave Boris an eighty seat majority in last December's general election.

It wasn’t only leavers who voted Conservative. Johnson would do well to remember that.

He should also abide by the democratic will of the people and implement his manifesto.

That’s what you lot were bleating about when May was pm. The same applies now.

Boris as PM is yesterday's news - Boris as the buffoon of the UK who led to its economic ruin and the breakup of the UK after 300+ years is the new news.

He is leading a nation into 4th world status.

There is nothing to respect or commend about the lying, cheating ,racist, sexist privileged nebbich  (https://www.wordsense.eu/nebbich/)

I take it you're not keen on him then!

KS will be next PM and we'll be back in the EU in 8 years time...

You seem to forget that the leave-remain vote was also split amongst Labour.    All Stamer has to do is mention rejoining the EU and you've instantly lost at least 30% of the Labour vote.

Today, perhaps... but in 4 years time...

8 years does seem optimistic though.

How's the 2019 Tory choice working out for Red Wall voters, about a year on? Satisfied, or already thinking about claiming a refund?

By the time of the next GE, it'll be interesting to see how much the inevitable NI border poll and the equally-inevitable Scottish independence, both precipitated by the handling of Brexit by the Tories (and never less so than this week!) weigh on English politics.

4 years' time, 8 years' time...at the rate Johnson's government is spaffing taxpayer-funded commitments on mates (£100bn on that vapourware moonshot? that's nearly annual NHS budget money, and the UK is already £2tn in the red...to say they were so afraid of what Corbyn would spend! ) whilst rodgering UK business (Johnson's ideology), you've more chances of getting back to being the sick man of Europe I'm afraid.

Not a huge surprise

Tbh quite honest, even though it would probably affect me more than most, id find it funny if we got sanctions given to us by the international community, would show how low we have actually sunk since this farce started 4 years ago

not sure that's correct really, you may lose the lunatic fringe but the more sensible end of the leaver camp will make a choice based on a wider set of criteria.

Most people just want to get Brexit done. We all want this EU situation done and dusted and behind us in the dustbin of history. Time to move on to new challenges.

Like trying to find anyone who'll sign a trade deal with us if we keep going back on our word.

Whilst I agree with you that it needs to be over ASAP, we can’t do it by becoming a rogue state. The current government are so utterly disrespectful of democracy that it beggars belief.

Playing games like this won’t help one bit. Not with negotiating a decent deal with the EU, nor with inspiring trust from other prospective trading partners.
