God bless Nicholas ,one of the best ever presenters on TV and radio for over 50 years

A lot of people didn't know he was the narrator for Four Feather Falls, on saying that, they do now, its just been on the lunchtime news.

He wrote a piece for the i newspaper a few weeks before Christmas, saying that he'd taken badly & had a fall, while doing his one man show at the Edinburgh Festival, last summer. 

 

He wrote that he had to endure travel by ambulance from Edinburgh, where he was hospitalised to his local hospital, Papworth but he was looking forward to getting up & about again, even though he was in his mid 90's but he said that his age, while the mind was still sharp, the body takes longer to recover. 

 

I see that he died in Papworth. 

 

I'll miss him on Just a Minute.

Try looking on YouTube.  Lots of programmes from that era have been put on. 

 

BBC 4 put on a tribute to Parsons last night.  Something I'd not seen before. 

 

Him presenting a programme about Mariantoinette's lost watch.  Nice tribute & an interesting programme as well.

Anyone see his stint on The Rocky Horror Show? Very funny and totally unexpected. Never met him, but I think I'd have warmed to the guy. Very personable.

I saw that programme, it was really good.

R.I.P  Nicholas,  by all accounts a lovely man.
