There seems to be a pattern here in respect of failing display panels. Until the manufacturers get to grips with the display issues, I think I will try to find a decent fm transistor radio. Something like a Sony. Edited January 23, 2020 by Janus
 Share this content via...

The vacuum fluorescent type commonly used on VCRs did fade after a long while, as do some of the LCD ones as on my Grundig. The red LED types seem to last longer. Not surprising though with VCRs as the clock would be on permanent display. Edited January 23, 2020 by carosio
 Share this content via...
RiffRaff 10 #16 Posted January 23, 2020 I've had 2 Pure Evokes over the years, the latest being the Marshall -1S version. Both have had similar experiences, with the display 'suddenly' disappearing from view, seemingly for no reason. In both cases, the solution was to remove the power lead for 30 seconds-or-so, reconnect and switch on - up to press, it's always worked. I've a feeling that this advice was actually listed on the Pure website at one time.
 Share this content via...

Ghozer 112 #22 Posted January 28, 2020 What's the issue, you said you knocked it over in the original post, but what's not working now? If it's just the LCD, it could just be the zebra strip that's slipped, preventing the display from working....
 Share this content via...
