Why Do Emergency Services  Send A Tx Msg After The Call?

Recommended Posts

Is it normal procedure for emergency services to send a Tx message to the caller after the call?

I received one from 999. It was mainly a load of meaningless random numbers, a few random letters and various non alphabetical characters.

Could it be to prove a call came from your number if the call should be a false call ?

I was wondering if the message had intended to be legible and meaningful, such as "We are on our way, ETA 15.20hrs" for example.

I did wonder if the message had somehow got scrambled. Am still puzzled by it.
