CF8M 11 #1 Posted January 11, 2020 A friend of mine in Sheffield who lived in the Woodside/Pitsmoor area in the fifty's and sixties said that she and her sister often went to "The bacon box'' with their parents. I think it may have been part of a Club in the area. Does anyone know of the place?
 Share this content via...
nikki-red 307 #2 Posted January 12, 2020 According to a few threads The 'Bacon Box' was the Marshall Tavern, on Pitsmoor Rd.
 Share this content via...
Kidorry 189 #3 Posted January 12, 2020 You are right nikki-red. I went in it a few times on my way to the Pitsmoor club and it was a poky little place.
 Share this content via...

Yes, it was exactly where you stated nikki. I remember it quite vividly as i was born just a few yards away directly on Pitsmoor Rd.It was bombed to the ground by Hitlers bombers during early war years whilst targetting the nearby steelworks.
