My wife has told me, earlier, the police had taped off the bottom of Nether Edge Rd., just before the junction of Sheldon Rd., as the road was covered with masonary.  Appears a chimney has blown down from above one of the shops & is strewn across the road. 

 

It's to be hoped nobody's injured, either pedestrians or motorists as this would be right at the traffic lights, which usually has standing traffic?

Trams currently suspended to Meadowhall due to the water level under the bridge after Meadowhall South/Tinsley and tram trains not running to Rotherham due to flooding on the railway line and Rotherham station.

 

Single line running again between Meadowhall South/Tinsley and Arena until further notice.

Water levels of don were much higher than usual yesterday. It is raining hard again and lots more rain coming. Still there are no flood warnings or concerns in the area.

I basically Torvill & Dean'd it on the footbridge over the Parkway Roundabout this morning. Proper dangerous. I gripped the railings for about 20 ft, tottering unsteadily. Feet going in eight different directions, making little progress. Then a young lass jogging gazelled past. I'm like "How the f......flip is she doing that???"
