South Yorkshire Police Superintendent Colin McFarlane said: “The severe weather is currently causing some issues across the county, with some localised flooding, damage to buildings and roads blocked due to debris and fallen trees. “I would urge anyone travelling today to take extra care, and to check your route beforehand.” Current road closures and partial blockages: • Tinsley Viaduct: closed to high sided vehicles. • Woodhead Pass: closed to all vehicles. • Doncaster Road between High Melton College and Melton Mill Lane: partially blocked due to fallen tree. • Cricket Inn Road, Sheffield: closed due to reports of flying debris. • Cineworld at Valley Centertainment, Sheffield: closed due to damaged windows. • Barnsley Road, Wath upon Dearne, near the Jet Garage: large tree blocking one lane.
