They've been identified on Facebook and had quite a lot of threats.

How on earth they expected to get away with this is beyond me, especially when the dog was chipped.

Could a previous owner of dog have had dog chipped then when new owner of dog bought said dog the owner details were never updated therefore person identified is innocent? Hope dog makes a full recovery

Isn’t that how serial killers normally start out, by harming animals.

Over reaction much?

I don't think you would say over reaction if it was your dog.

These things always concern me. They could be targeting someone completely innocent and hoards of online vigilantes could end up making their life hell.

Yes, I think the news said the name on the microchip was from 2010?  So could be out of date.

Police arrested two people, who have been identified on Facebook.

I’ve read books about this and there is a correlation in some cases starting with harming animals and moving on to humans.

So you think killing someone or life imprisonment is appropriate sentencing for attempting to drown a dog?

Give your head a wobble.

Some people prefer animals to some people, I would like to tie the rock to the guilty party and sling them in the trent and see how they go on. There is no need for cruelty to any animal, there's plenty of alternatives if you need to part with one.

Spot the contradiction.
