Is It Possible To Create New Pin Code On A Vcr?

I gave my friend a Matsui VCR a few years ago. It was originally set up with my pin code, which diplays my name when the code is entered.

He wants to have his own pin code/name on the VCR now. I have put my pin code in for him today, hoping to gain access to a menu or sorts. But there is no menu/options to amend anything. 

Is there a workaround/fix for this?

I know this sounds obvious, but have you looked for an online version of the user manual which may contain the solution?

It should be in the setting but it might require your code first. I've not used a VCR in a lot of years so only a guess.

Tell your friend the code stays, as a constant reminder of your generosity.

5 minutes on Google suggests turning it off, then powering on and holding ch up and record together should remove the pin
