You are not held to ransom.   If you don't want to watch live broadcast television then you don't have to pay the TV licence.

 

The law is very simple as is your choice.

 

Do you honestly think if the government scrapped the licence tomorrow they would not find some other way to make us pay for all the broadcast infrastructure, Freeview services, specialist access facilities, minority language programming, non-commercial national radio and next gen internet rollout.   Try and force the commercial operators to fund all that out of their own pockets - I bet you wouldn't get very far.   

 

The licence is and always has been more than just what's on BBC one.

I expected  it to be better but was disappointed. I think they left it too long to make a come back.  The show was tired and worn out as were most of the actors.

That's not really saying much is it?  Comedy over Christmas has been dire. 

Put on the tv's programme guide on Christmas day night around 10pm & 3 different stations were showing programmes featuring the "Two Ronnie's." 

 

As for Gavin & Stacey?  It's as overrated as Fleabag.

Gavin and Stacey. I liked the original but this was dire. Tired, unfunny and it seemed to drag on for ages.

I rarely watch any tv at all but I made a rare exception for this. Ah well, you live and learn I suppose.

Fleabag was a massive hit and I watched every episode.  If you think expressing an honest opinion about a television is trolling you probably need a lie down in a darkened room and have someone mop your fevered brow.

I have been a fan of Gavin and Stacey for many years and looked forward to this new episode.

I wasn't disappointed.

Still the same humour and I laughed out loud on more than one occasion.

The acting is very clever and goes over many peoples heads. The silences and the 'looks' were genius.

British humour is unique but has moved on from the predictable humour of Steptoe and Son and Porridge.

Some people just 'don't get it' and that's a shame.

Just my opinion of course.

Wasn't on about flea  bag I was referring to the topic in hand and how sad to see you stealing my material,(dark rooms ect.)
