May Bank Holiday.

Please check you calenders and diaries many are still showing May 4th as a Bank Holiday it has been moved to Friday May the 8th this year for VE day.

Thanks for info didn't know anything about it. Calendars are wrong but now updated.

Yes BBC say apparently 30 million diaries printed with wrong date ,mine included but I've altered it.

Don't worry.  I don't forsee the rioting in the streets when we changed from the Gregorian Calendar to the Julian one. 

 

You've got the 2nd Friday off instead of the 1at Monday.  Stiff upper lip, you can cope with the change.   If Mr Mainwarring's nearby, tell him not to panic.

No, but the change was announced last year (on 7 June)- see https://www.gov.uk/government/news/2020-may-bank-holiday-will-be-moved-to-mark-75th-anniversary-of-ve-day.

The problem was that many diaries/calendars were already being printed.
