St Petre   85 #13 Posted December 26, 2019 Perhaps the Owls won't need a points deduction imposed by the Football League, at this rate they'll do it by themselves.
 Share this content via...
NERVY-OWL Â Â 192 #14 Posted December 26, 2019 24 minutes ago, Padders said: Very frustrating Nervy. I just don't get it, why can't they do it till the final whistle. I personally don't care if we go up anyway, happy enough having a competitive team in the championship but the money would be very useful if we did go up for a season. The EFL might of put the brakes on a promotion push anyway for this season so even if we had won it might count for nothing but still poor for the fans giving up their time on boxing to go home with a defeat like that
 Share this content via...

Brooker11   10 #16 Posted December 26, 2019 Stoke were by far the better side today, the Owls have had some decent results and performances lately but this was one of those days to forget when virtually the whole team had an off day (except Dawson), Iorfa had his worst game in an Owls shirt and everyone else was poor.  Cold, wet and a day to forget. Two home games to come next.
 Share this content via...
St Petre   85 #17 Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Wasn't a day to forget until about ten minutes from the end but I do get your very good point. Edited December 26, 2019 by St Petre spell
 Share this content via...

iansheff   86 #19 Posted December 27, 2019 Well they hadn't conceded a goal on the last 5 Boxing days and not lost in 7 Boxing days according to the BBC, so if ever a defeat was going to happen it was going to be against the bottom club. staninoodle   174 #21 Posted December 27, 2019 Wednesday were shocking 1st half, not at the races at all and were lucky to trail by just the one goal, after a stoke foreward shot wide withg just dawson to beat, the Owls managed a single effort at goal,a Reach header striking the post. 2nd half they still struggled, lacking any drive or purpose too easily martialed by the stoke defence untill Hutchinson and Winnall came on and we began to show more purpose,,two set pieces 7 minutes apart brought the owls a lead theyd scarcely deserved, and they seemed content to play out the remaining 15 mins by running down the clock, getting deeper by the minute, stoke made their own double substitution bringing on Vokes and Campbell 5 minutes apart and sacrificing a defender for vokes. Stoke threw everything into attack and got the equaliser 3 mins into stoppage time and a winner with almost the last kick yet again, they failed to manage a lead with any proffesionalism, just plonked bodies behind the ball hoping it would be enough. To do it once in a season is bad enough, but TWICE shows they havent learned any lessons in game management, stoke were deflated and their for the taking but they took their foot off the throat and went into their shells just like @ blackburn and got the same result. Not good enough
 Share this content via...
