Owen Jones on Twitter:

"I’m so, so sorry guys. Just utterly devastating. Brexit just smashed us. Keeping together an electoral coalition of Remainers and Leavers as the country bitterly divided just became impossible."

There we have it. A revolutionary socialist celebrating a far right electoral victory.

Utter madness. Rather embarrassing for him, I guess

Listening to election special on Radio 5.  Just interviewed a Lab activist who has been doorstepping in the Lab heartlands in the Midlands.  He was telling of visiting life long Lab supporters who weren't happy with Corbyn & also said that their areas had voted to leave the EU but their views have been simply ignored by the Lab Party over the past 3 & a half years.

Corbyn and the second referendum has cost labour, this election was mainly Brexit. You are spot on baron.

How naive you are...

Believeing more of Boris' lies.

The sky might not, but the pound will, the standard of living will, the employment rate will...

You have taken us back to the 70s, not Corbyn!

Hate to burst your bubble but the reports are the money markets are loving the predictions.  Sterling has risen 2% against the US Dollar.  Don't know how it's doing against the € but presumably it will be rising against it as well?

Give the workers enough austerity and they will undoubtedly rise up and overthrow the running dog bourgousie capitalists - I don't think so.

Here you go re; your Sterling falling fears;

The markets were always going to react this way as there is now more certainty regarding Brexit.

Had Lab won, Sterling would have gone into free fall due to Brexit uncertainty & Corbyn's proposed massive borrowing programme that would have to have been paid back eventually.

George Galloway on Twitter:

"A #Brexit quake has just happened as I consistently warned that it would. They will seek to blame #Corbyn but in truth he is not wholly to blame. Those - McDonnell Starmer Thornberry Abbott et al - who hung the Albatross of the Anti-Brexit mantle around his neck are more culpable"

This was a Brexit election. The 17.4 million will not be silenced.

It’s looking like the opposite is true. Give them enough Brexit and they’ll become conformist, supine slaves to their upper class benefactors.

If Rother Valley goes Tory tonight, I’ll know that the end times are near.

To be fair, we’ve just elected a man who hides in a fridge, as PM.

Its tricky to dumb down from there.

Caroline Flint on Twitter:

"We're going to hear the Corbynistas blame it on Brexit and the Labour Uber Remainers blaming Corbyn. Both are to blame for what looks like a terrible night for Labour. Both have taken for granted Labour’s heartlands. Sorry we couldn’t offer you a Labour Party you could trust."

The Labour Party's second referendum (with the option to remain) has been completely rejected at the ballot box.

That says more about Corbyn  than it does about Johnson
