Whereabouts  in France are you ?

In France you would need the heating on in your van most nights in winter even on the Med  - temps in Perpignan - probably the warmest part of France in the aurumn / winter have been low / mid teens all week and well down in single figures at night - just picking up again now, but forecast to be single figures in the day with frost at night early December.  Dec / Jan & Feb have average highs 12/13 C and lows 5/6.

 

We're in Perigord Noir (the south east of the Dordogne department) - were're only a 5 minute drive from from the "border" with Occitanie (Lot department).

 

Massive numbers of people in motorhomes head to Spain for the winter - usually south of  Valencia. The Algarve in Portugal is also popular. None round here although can't move for them May - October.

Seriously think about it.  You might find it ok now, but as you and your mobile home get older, you might not be able to cope as well with the damp, cold winters and from a lot of popular resorts it's a long way to a decent hospital.

I'm on the West Coast so its not so much of a worry. Plus I'll probably be long gone by the time it happens.
