The Club has issued its claim against the EFL for acting unlawfully in relation to its alleged disciplinary charges.

We have sought to engage with the EFL in order to agree a sensible procedure to resolve the dispute arising from the fact that the Club relied upon representations from the EFL in relation to the sale transaction which is the subject of the charges.

The Club regrets that the EFL has so far refused to agree to the Club being permitted to make its claim, and refused to agree to a sensible procedure for dealing with the dispute.

The Club will continue to take such steps as it considers necessary to protect and enforce its rights against the EFL and to protect it from unlawful action by the EFL affecting the Club and the performance of its team.

The Club will not make any further comment at this stage.

If I remember rightly QPR had an EFL penalty applied after they were promoted to the Premier League and they had the penalty held until they were relegated at which time it was enforced. Could well be the case for Wednesday but if it is a points deduction that takes them out of the promotion places it could get very interesting.

Doesn't seem to be affecting the team performance but it'd be just like Wednesday to get promoted then have it taken away by a points deduction

It needs sorting out ASAP the EFL need to get their finger out and start communicating with the club. Football is becoming a joke, Liverpool were made to play in the cup Tuesday when the first team were out in Qatar, they had to play the youngsters. That isn't fair on fans paying good money to see a reserve team.

Same as when they got into the European cup and had it taken away by the action of others.

The EFL have hit Macclesfield Town with a six-point deduction after pleading guilty to ‘numerous EFL charges’, including a failure to pay salaries on time. Wonder how long it has taken for them to make that decision and how long before we hear what is happening at Hillsborough.

According to The Guardian, it seems the EFL are more than aware of Sheffield Wednesday's "non-operating" sponsors. However, as these companies aren't currently generating mass amounts of money for the club, they are willing to other look it at the moment.

It is said that Chansiri has used the "non-operating" companies to inject £1m per year into the club.

It seems that they might have got away with this one for now, shame really as it is another blatant exploitation of the FFP rules. Whilst they haven't generated substantial amounts, the amounts generated, in conjunction with the "stadium sale", seem to have kept them the right side of FFP.

I know Wednesday seem to be putting up a fight, but it will fall on deaf ears. They are guilty of multiple breaches and the EFL WILL punish them heavily..... and all things said and done, so they should!

The Guardian article says absolutely nothing, just regurgitates info that already been covered a thousand times, check how many subsidiary companies Scarborough Holdings has before commenting further, its exactly the same practice.

Subsidiary companies?

The main difference being that all of our sponsors have always been and always will be active companies. The sponsors injecting money into Sheffield Wednesday (regardless of how much) we're set up and have never been operational. They we're simply set up as a means to inject money into the club, however for whatever reason, they haven't done so in large amounts. Whether this be due to "better advice" on the matter or the better plan of selling the ground, who knows?. Had vaster amounts been injected through these companies, then it is in no doubt that the EFL would have had them over a barrel for this also.

They haven't though so its a total non story.
