Did anyone catch https://www.itv.com/hub/britains-hidden-hunger-exposure/2a7613a0001 ?

Hidden hunger.

It's 2019 and we still have families being hungry.

Not addicts or immigrants.

Our society has children hungry because we've gone backwards and now have undeserving poor again.

For Shame.

Do you know what extrapolating means? I wonder if the word you meant to use was exploiting?

As we all know there are a few soup kitchen round town.

One i follow on facebook i recently saw the "local drug dealer" also a friend of a friend there(who is on a reasonable amount of money)

how do you stop the abuse or the need over greed attitude towards this?

So how would you stop 'greedy people abusing soup kitchens' then?

think there should be earlier in morning and more vetting in to people and the money they get.

not just people rolling out of pub or people passing with no shame.

i have no problem with people or families who have fallen on a hard time.

just the scum who wish to take the bread from their mouths!

If it wasn't for the Tory scum and their endless, grinding down of the poor and benefits claimants then we wouldn't need food banks.

But hey, vote for them and their tax cuts for the rich.

If only the rich were subject to stringent vetting when it comes to paying their taxes etc.

It wasn't exploiting obesity. The families shown happened to have overweight members.

Nice way to dismiss them though, they are overweight so can't be hungry?

Didn't make you wonder if poverty contributes to unhealthy lifestyles or wonder if fuel poverty is having a deeper impact?

Thus making it harder for people to get what they need. Clever. Not.

i think people on the program on tv, just like people wishing to use food banks and soup kitchens(on a regular basis)

should show some the true incoming and outgoings.  also please don't tell me you can only use a soup kitchen three times. they float the rules every day to make up numbers

Food banks came into being in the 2000s, under a Labour government.

And Food bank use in Germany and France is much higher than in the United Kingdom, which suggests a wider problem.

But don't let that cloud your spiteful blinkered judgement, hey?
