Earliest xMas decorations - spotting sheffield 2019

Recommended Posts

Just had a drive out into the peak district for Sunday lunch and I decided to drive over Strines and Bradfield on my way back into Sheffield.

Anyway as the title states, I was staggered to see that The Plough in Bradfield are decked out with decorations. I mean granted they aren't doing anything wrong in the slightest and fair play to them, it was just a rude awakening that Christmas actually isn't all that far away! But then as the fairer half pointed out, I suppose the Work Christmas outings won't be that far off now!

I usually expect to see them popping up after the bonfires start to go out.

Are the the first? Anyone else seen any knocking about?

Been to three garden centres today.  Two of them were already like Santas grottos and the third was in the process of becoming one.

Fair enough, but playing 'The First Noel' etc  was a step too far in my opinion!

Convinced that we've seen a house with a string of lights around the window on Norton Lees Lane near the pub.

Some people's gardens are lit up all year round with those solar garden lights,

my daughters garden is like fairy land with all the lights.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!    It should be illegal for Consumermas decorations to be erected before  December!

For crying out loud, we haven't had Halloween or Guy Fawkes yet!
