Cardiff V Wednesday

Recommended Posts

Got the outcome we deserved. Wednesday are too dirty and I don't like it. The number of free kicks we gave away in the second half was ridiculous. It was just asking for it and Cardiff should have had a penalty thanks to Palmer's ineptitude. A decent fullback needed in January.

Monk didn't award that dubious free kick that got Cardiff the equaliser.

Saying that, the Owls paid the price of sitting on a one goal lead.

They were fortunate to get one point in the end. One great save and a missed sitter in extras

Dubious free kick or not ,went on the 1.0 try & defend a win ( not) Nuhiu Murphy poor poor ,needed  more humph not huff & puff, poor decision making from the bench , Cardiff or a shocking team but made it more interesting from thier prospective on a really bad first half from them or was it a good 1st half from the owls .

To be honest Jim, Harris had his shirt pulled equally in the penalty area but the pundit didn't linger on it!

Lol, yes. I'd forgotten about that. The Palmer one was more blatant though.

I hope hanging on to one-nowt leads are not a sign of things to come, the Owls are hardly the Inter Milan of to 1960s.

Perhaps the reason that they're dirty and foul a lot is because they're the oldest squad in the league, legs get tired against younger quicker opponents which leads to fouls due to frustration.

Failed to convert the other chances that came their way and after a decent first half we faded in the 2nd,the ref was a proper homer, weve had him before, every 50/50 went to the home side, the kid who took the free kick, tomlin? has put his arm in Boerners face and never got a card, another ref may shown him the red.

The antics at the free kick were strange but Dawson was poorly positioned and gave him the  the whole left side of his goal to aim at and he couldnt get to it,had he put himself in the centre of the goal he could have saved it and weve dropped 2 points

Owls the better side in the first half, but overall a poor game with little quality.

I think he ought to have brought FF on instead of Murphy, I am sure he would have  been more up for it. Mr Warnock wants to calm down a bit, the way he was screaming at the linesman  for handball and a penalty against Reach, he will do himself an injury. The referee was poor he let the Cardiff player get away with a foul that should have been a booking then booked Hutchinson for a similar foul, the consistency of refereeing is very poor.  As Jim says they are giving way too many fouls away, didn't the commentator say no other team has committed as many fouls as Wednesday, having said that some of last nights decisions were dubious.

Looked at their goal a few times now and think Dawson probably could of been more central and maybe the ref would of been more inclined to dissallow it for interference. We did get what we deserved though, it was so frustrating the amount of silly free kicks given away. The ref wasn't brilliant but 1-0 is never a scoreline we should be sitting on.

Plus side we did look fairly solid, limited their chances and defended well with most they threw at us. Leeds will be much tougher though

Only saw snippets of the game, and the final summing up but it appears it was a game the owls dominated in   the first half and Cardiff  threw the kitchen sink at us in the second, eventually getting the equilizer.  We had an hour as joint leaders,  if that keeps some happy, and we  came away with a point  from a ground  where many teams have lost this season. We,re  in the mix and theres a long way to go, lets get on with it starting with the  next two home games.

How can Gary Monk replace Barry Bannan for Atti Nuhiu,we control of the midfield until such a stupid decision was made by Monk, after that Cardiff got back in control and what did Nuhiu do when he came on hardly anything,,Monk will really regret this stupid choice and the fans will be very angry with Monk by throwing away 3 points instead of gaining just one
