Eliud Kipchoge - Sub 2 Hour Marathon.

First human ever to run a marathon in sub 2 hours, absolutely amazing! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person. 1:59:40 in the Vienna marathon.

Well pleased for Eliud Kipchoge, a stunning performance. BUT as it was not in an official race, it is not officially a recognized world record. Doubtful our athlete will be bothered though, and rightly so. Well done him.

I read on twitter, can’t say if it’s true or not, but it translates to each 100m he did in 17 seconds. That can’t be right can it?

For the parkrunner that's 8 and a bit 5k's. Every 5k in about 14:11. 

 

14:55 is the record for a single 5k in our fastest local course at Rother Valley.
