Strictly Come Dancing

Recommended Posts

Spotted last night that the BBC, so as not to 'offend & upset', change the words of the song, 'Oye Como Va', removing the word 'Mulatta' & replacing it with 'Chiquita', during Ranvir Singh's dance.

I agree with Cressida, I don’t find Tess common. I don’t think Stricktly would be the same without her.

Also agree with Nikki, Bill Bailey surprised me how good he is, I can see him making it to the semifinal. Although it might be a bit to early to predict that.

My bold.

If people believe she's common because she refuses to get rid of or moderate her Northern accent, then good for her.

My neighbour’s son who has a soft Newcastle accent went to Drama School in London for 3 years in August . When I said my goodbyes to him I said the next time I see you I expect you will speak different, I’m sure they will teach you to lose your accent.  He told me no they don’t do that any more. They encourage you to keep your accent.

Tess has got a nice voice and she is definitely not common in my eyes. Also I like to hear the professional dancers talk, most of them are from different countries.

Some people don't like Gino D'Acampo's accent then again  some people do,   I was giving my opinion,  its not a law that  everybody should like the same.

Anton praised Max when the judges gathered before the eliminating dance,  said both pairs had improved and then voted Max and Diane off!

I'm sure Max sealed his own fate on Saturday night which is why he ended up against somebody much better than him in the dance-off rather than somebody he stood any chance against.

He looked relieved to be voted out. He never seemed to smile much did he ?

I know this won't bode well with some of my favourite forumers, but I've really tried to watch Strictly, no quarms with the dancers/dancing, I was brought up around this as my mother was a Ballroom dance Champion, she won many copetitions at the City hall,  ballrooms around the country and Blackpool Tower lounge, taking part in couples and team dance routines on screen on the Original screening of Come Dancing. Its the cheesy  and smug judges, nobody more smug than silly Aton Dubec, ( smug name for starters ) then there is Tess Daly who even  makes sheffielders sound posh, I thought Kieth Lemmon sounded common but she really sounds as common as muck,  :gag: ,  as Larry Grayson would say.  :hihi:

Anton finally in the judges seat.  I dont find him smug at all.

Neither do I ! I also love Tessa,s Yorkshire accent which isn’t as broad as us Sheffielders but nice all the same.!

I think they ought to keep Anton when Motsi comes back, it just works better with 4 judges. Though he needs to be a bit more critical and mark a bit lower otherwise he'll leave himself nowhere to go when somebody does something really exceptional.
