DerbyTup   10 #2 Posted October 7, 2019 Doesn't say when it happened. One assumes it was on the 6th of October, same day as the webpage was published, but this isn't clear, it just says...  "Police were called to Arundel Gate at 13:50 BST after reports of a 40-year-old man being stabbed in what they believed was an attempted robbery".   It appears the motive was robbery, but the kid will be charged with "attempted murder"? It would be interesting to know more details. It happened Sunday 6th October.  The current motive given by police was robbery however the offender is known to have made several threats to stab transport employees over the last few months.  There are also (unconfirmed) reports that the offender had been threatening other members of the public with a knife earlier in the day.  And I will be very surprised if the CPS push the attempt murder charge. Even so I'll guarantee the offender will try the mental health defence for a lesser sentence.  And finally. The victim is OK and has been discharged home from the hospital.  Edited October 7, 2019 by Resident
 Share this content via...

Resident   1,125 #10 Posted October 8, 2019 Something that isn't being reported is that the offender was in court 2 days prior to the attack on charges including threats to kill, robbery & possession of a bladed article. The offender also has a string of previous arrests/convictions for similar offences.  Yet the judge saw fit to release him.
 Share this content via...
