Are they actually not allowed out of meadowhall or strongly advised to stay?

hahaha can you imagine plod doing that?

 

But meanwhile back on the SY Police twitter it says  "TRAVEL: There is still congestion around Meadowhall. We have traffic officers working hard to ease the traffic. Please keep following us for updates."

You hit the nail on the head it's like that over here in s8 as well as the rest of Sheffield.

Looks like the Meadowhall flood defences are going to be tested.

 

Rain to die out later but a few hours yet hope everyone gets home safely.

BOCHUM PARKWAY AND MANCHESTER ROAD Stocksbridge TO CLOSE

UPDATE FROM STREETS AHEAD

We've closed Manchester Rd in Stocksbridge due to flooding from Oughtibridge to the junction with Vaughton Hill. Please avoid the area and take care driving home this evening
