The bit that went in 2007 by the Oasis has had a very large wall built to protect the road (although with all flood defences, a high wall just pushes the likelihood of flooding to somewhere else)

From the videos it's flooded the dipped under pass pathway on the Meadowhall side just past the overhead bridge from the station.

The rain should soon be over, so it'll go down pretty quick once it finally stops. Just saw the vid on Sheffield Online, there is hardly any protection at that part of the path.

It doesn’t look like the new defence walls at Meadowhall will be tested just yet. Like before, the high levels of water will carry on into Doncaster, Goole and into the Humber

You'll not see any up at Low Edges - even if all the polar ice caps and glaciers melted you'd still not get flooded up there.

This is the current flood alert from the Environment Agency, the level they send out when river flooding is a possibility but not likely.

I think our flood defences have done well and have done what we spent money on them for after 2007. We've apparently had almost the equivalent of the entire month of October's average rainfall in the space of about 18 hours and whilst some roads have flooded where the rain has pooled beyond the ability of the drains to cope with the level of the river has been high but not quite high enough to repeat 2007. I think the ultimate proof of that is that this thread hasn't been inundated with posts from people like the equivalent one was back in 2007.

Sheffield is on an Amber Alert for rain. Early prediction for Blackburn Brook at Sheffield Wincobank is that it will flood and will go higher than 2007 (https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/station/8261?direction=u)
