Poor Quality Chat Shows.

Recommended Posts

Another poor quality chat show on last night with Jonathan Ross. All the interviews are forced and pre- arranged. Graham Norton is the same. The host brings up subjects with the guest which you can tell have been pre- discussed. When I think how good Wogan and Parkinson were, these modern chat shows pale into insignificance.

Wogan and Parkinson were just as pre-arranged and scripted and were actually worse as they strayed away from a whole lot of subject matter which presenters these days aren’t afraid to ask.

Chat shows have always been vehicles for celebrity guests to sell their latest book, film, TV show etc.

I switched over to another Chanel and never went back. Norton is one of the highest paid presenters on tv,so you think he would put a decent show on !

It's just as much the quality of the guests these days as the inability of the chat show host to get anything out of them.  If they've got nothing to say in the first place other than to plug their latest film or book then it won't be a great show.

Take last night's Graham Norton show.  2 lightweights in Sienna Miller, (still insisting she's an actress) & Paul Rudd.

Yet on the same show you also had Robert De Niro, (who does few interviews) & Bruce Springsteen.  These 2 could have carried the show between them without the banal Miller & Rudd.

His guest list is so poor- clearly BBC paid better when he was there.

Graham Norton at least has A list on the show.

Sunday Brunch is nowhere near as cool or as funny as it’s presenters think it is. Both look shattered as though they have been on the “lash” the previous night.
How annoying is the the floor manager who instigates the canned forced laughter at anything.

Shame really as some of the guests and the music are interesting.
