Baron99   796 #3 Posted September 14, 2019 Years since we were in here in this neck of the Sheffield wood. It used to be part of a nice little pub crawl between the Palm Tree, the 2 Freedoms, Florist & the one opposite the Florist, (name escapes me but a car once went through one of the walls) & Rose House.  Last time we were in the Palm Tree, & this will date the visit, it was run by a little fella who I believe was once a jockey?
 Share this content via...
Magneteer   20 #4 Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) If this is true (and I really hope it is), it can only be a good thing. We need to see more of these struggling local pubs taken from the hands of the greedy pubco's and run by our local breweries who actually know a thing or two about good beer, pricing, and how a good pub should be run. I also heard that Bradfield Brewery has acquired the the Wharnecliffe Arms.   Edited September 14, 2019 by Magneteer sp
 Share this content via...

Given its size it has done well to survive.
 Share this content via...

We'd do The Crown, Florist, Palm, both Freedoms, the Belle Vue and there was another on Walkley road, near the corner of Burgoyne St that I can't remember the name of.
