Geoffrey Boycott Awarded a Knighthood.

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Sir Geoffrey Boycott for being Knighted for his services to cricket.

It's great when you can be so polarised into what is black and white and be blind to the colours in between.

It is never that straight forward and I can see a man that has done his best despite what some people think.

Elvis Presley wrote in the back of his bible “To judge a man by his weakest link or deed is like judging the power of the ocean by one wave.”

I have to feel sorry for some of the posters as to their lack of life experience and tolerance.

Most people on here aren’t judging him they are questioning what kind of message is given by the awarding of an honour to a very public misogynist and racist with a conviction for violence against women.

He has already been judged by the courts. People are quite rightly questioning the appropriateness of the honour, not helped by it being given by a disgraced former Prime Minister.

And served his "sentence" for it. Unless you think he should be cast out of society forever?

The BBC and C5 don't seem to have a problem with him, which is why they still employ him.

They employ him as a cricket commentator as an ex-England batsman and someone who is very opinionated.

Awarding him an honour is a completely different thing.

Michael Jacksons’s records are still sold worldwide but I doubt that he will be receiving any awards for services to music and let’s not forget that he was never convicted of anything.

Not sure what MJ has to do with it, but he won several awards after his death.

I’m pretty sure he has not been awarded anything since the Finding Neverland documentary  was first aired.

That's not what you said before though.  Nice way to move the goalposts.

Sir Geoffrey has been judged worthy of a knighthood, get over it.
