Scarborough (Comedy / Drama).

Recommended Posts

Not a bad start to a new show from the writer of 'Benidorm', although I can't  personally stand Jason Manford - poor man's Peter Jay.

Quite a few fimilar faces from the likes of Corrie, Benidorm & Open All Hours.

If anyone knows Scarborough, the kareoke pub in the series, 'The Ship' is actually 'The Newcastle Packet'.

With it being written by the same writer as Benidorm, it will probably go the same way.    Started ok then got dafter and dafter until it became unwatchable.

OK but if the start is anything to go by will go downhill quicker than Benidorm

They are trying too hard to be funny in Scarborough. Nothing looks natural. When I think of the old comedy shows like Porridge, the new ones pale into insignificance.

I thought exactly the same thing.

There is a very tight knit locals culture in seaside towns, especially in Winter, but I think this almost hit the mark at the start then started to veer away.

I watched it on iPlayer, I didn't notice this bit:

I thought it was ok , its light entertainment bit like Benidorm, not that funny but watchable and some great shots of Scarborough,

Turned it off after 20 minutes! What a load of rubbish!!

You didn’t miss anything.! It got worse as the programme went on. It was very forced and unnatural. When I think of the old sit coms like Dads Army and Steptoe and son, it makes me realise what good scriptwriters the people were who wrote them.
