Yes because it’s really hard to  use them for really local and impromptu journeys ie a trip to town. Those sites are better for one off longer trips.

There is already sites set up for this

But they’re not being used enough, maybe because people want a more      transparent/people friendly approach that Facebook is more likely  to give.  Even if one journey is made from this page then that’s a bonus. Some positivity would be great!

Probably because people dont want strangers sat in their car

You'll get little positivity on here, on here the mode is of the "stick in the mud" variety, its famous for it.
