Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

The reason why Mrs May had to change it to a UK wide backstop was because she was reliant on the 10 DUP MPs to get a majority,

It wasn’t just the DUP that voted against it. Many right-wing pro-Unionist Tory MPs (and Kate Hoey) were against it.

That doesn't alter the fact that the change to the Backstop to include the whole of the UK was made because of the DUP.   MPs from all parties who genuinely want to see the democratic 2016 EU referendum result implemented on 31st October should give just having a Northern Ireland Backstop, if necessary some serious thought.

The problem is there are too many MPs in Parliament who don't respect the democratic choice the people of the whole of the UK made on 23rd June 2016 and they will vote against any deal with the aim of getting Brexit stopped.

And more power to their elbow.

The referendum was won by the far right by playing to some pretty base emotions of our population.

There is no one currently advancing any tangible or credible benefit of leaving the EU,

We only hear “we must deliver the will of the people”......(and to hang with the consequences).

Why did the same MPs now seeking to block the implementation of the will of people, vote overwhelmingly to trigger Article50  making leaving  the EU without a deal the default legal position, if these MPs are as good as delivering power with their elbow as you imply?

In 1998 the Irish people North and South voted overwhelmingly against a hard border which is why the backstop is a legal necessity to protect it.

No they didn't as what they did was to vote in favour of the Good Friday Agreement 1998 which only alluded to a border just once and that was to do with the security installation being dismantled.

Now scroll down to where it says "What does the Good Friday Agreement say about a hard border?"

There are.

Quite a few of them are advocating no deal Brexit. Without any idea what the implications of that are.
