Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

He had to, no amount of balls out postering make him above our sovereign courts lol

Before anyone gets too excited, this is simply a statement to the court that he intends to comply with the law. It doesn’t actually commit him to doing anything.

Like the proroguing Parliament case, publicly announcing in advance that you intend to do something unlawful will eventually backfire in the courts.

Let's crack on people voted to leave probly because of the influx of migrants the majority of which come here and work and have better lives.... Then the others want everything free take over areas like page hall and turn them into rat riddled ghettos let's leave and the sooner the better 🙏

Can we start by cutting welfare benefits first.  That will have the same effect.  Also, it will make the UK less attractive to potential immigrants, no?

Universal credit is therefore a great thing to have.  Lets squeeze the poor more.  They have far too many benefits as it is.

Reports all indicate today that Bojo is ready to ask for an extension if no deal is agreed by 19th.

Of course he'll ask for an extension, the predictions categorised as "project fear" are real... his chance of ever winning an election if he delivers no-deal vanish in a puff of smoke.

So what happened to his " die in a ditch than have another extension" and " UK will leave the EU 31st Oct deal or no deal"

It's going the same way as his "lie down in front of the bulldozers" line, a convenient lie to fool the gullible... nothing more.

All of which are a result of UK government policy, not EU membership.

In fact some of our inner cities would be a hell of a lot worse if it hadn’t been for £ millions worth of urban development grants we have received from the EU over the years.

On the subject of convenient lies to fool the gullible: EU calls on Boris Johnson to publish Brexit plan in full. Boris told parliament that there would be no physical infrastructure linked to customs checks but that contradicts the full Brexit plan document they passed to the EU.

Look, it is widely documented that he is a proven liar and a cheat. He is also sexist and racist.

Why are we surprised when he weasels his way round things say he didn't really mean them or that it was misinterpreted?

My only worry is that those people (aka Brexiteers) that he has led down the garden path with his Suicide Bill will blame the wrong people (Remainers) when it all goes the way that the Remainers have been predicting since June2016.

Boris is the culprit here - he is guilty of not only lying to parliament and the queen but also the country.

Maybe the comparison with Mussolini about his Manchester speech isn't too far off and a lamppost is being painted as we speak?

Very soon the truths and lies of this will not matter.

It is all about the next election where Bozo will paint himself as the victim in all this, where he was only trying to ‘get Brexit done’ on behalf of the people and the bad courts and Parliament stopped him doing it.

Many Brexit supporters will neither know nor care about the truth, as long as someone is shouting ‘Brexit’ louder than anyone else. Never underestimate how dumb those who respond to populist dog whistle slogans can be. Let’s not forget the Trump supporter last week who when told of the phone transcript between Trump and Zelensky stated shouting that it was all fake news made up by CBS News despite the transcript being released by Trump himself.

These people simply don’t think!

Not long now to a full, clean Brexit. Our once in a lifetime EU referendum which delivered a clear majority for Leave will give the people what they voted for. Remainers can have another referendum in 2057.

I work in a medium sized company, we dont make any changes without a go/ no go check. Aka a second referendum. People are now just entranched in a weird nationalistic rage.

The referendum leave campaign has been proven to have been misleading, no one voted no deal, there was no majority, now we descend in to whoever shouts brexit loudest and then idiots like farage try to claim the spirit of the blitz!!

I suspect the mood in the ww2 shelters would be somewhat worse if people in there realised that 52% of people voted for the bombs.

Not every one who voted leave is a rascist but every rascist voted leave. That is the 2% you are hanging your hat on

A good point very made.

Indeed as I recall, it was that very point made by Will Self that so enraged prime gammon Mark Francois that he flipped and claimed Mark Francois had said the exact opposite:

OK. I want to excoriate your fractured, credulous, reasoning, but really, why bother?

It wasn't 52% of people, it was 52% of those who voted.

We don't, and will never, know what motivated the vote leavers to put their cross in the wrong box, maybe some of them did fully wish to leave without a deal.

But the referendum was not a once in a lifetime vote, as I think I read on another post on this thread - it wasn't even a legally binding vote.

Time passes, different facts and understandings emerge and the electorate moves on. We have General Elections every 5 years or so, and no-one seriously argues that we shouldn't have another one because we made our intentions clear last time, so why should a referendum result be any different?

Interesting comment from a former member of the Supreme Court on Newsnight tonight.

He said that if Bozo refused to comply with the Benn law by not sending a letter requesting an extension and this was challenged in court, he would lose the case because the law is quite clear and the court would simply send the letter itself.

It was also pointed out that any talk of getting Poland or Hungary to veto any extension was a complete non starter. Unless Bozo has literally € billions to offer as a bribe, there is no way either country would sabotage their own economies to help out a Prime Minister who will probably not last more than another six months.

So there is little chance of leaving the EU on October 31st and maybe the £millions being spent on Brexit adverts should now be repaid by the Conservative Party.
