Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Nope, that is exactly it: the NCA has not received that evidence from the Electoral Commission, so has not made any findings about it. But that evidence is known to exist, Carol Cadwallar and other investigative journalists (Irish, US) have bits of it.

You're free to think what you want. I think we haven't heard the last of this by far, particularly as and when 'normal' politics resume post-Trump (impeachment proceedings in 3,2,1...) and post-Brexit crisis (irrespective of how that one plays out).

Its not what I think that counts though. Its about whether the Electoral Commission's report on this matter has been concluded or not and it seems that in this case it has as the allegations have been investigated and dismissed by the NCA. For any other investigations about electoral wrong doings then its the Electoral Commission that has first to pass over any evidence to the NCA. According to the NCA all bank account details detailing the loans and the sources have already been investigated so this case is now closed.

I made no reference to "any other investigations about electoral wrongdoings", you inferred that from my post #1789.

This is what I referred to in that post:

Quote

“There have also been media reports alleging that Mr Banks has been involved in other criminality related to business dealings overseas. The NCA neither confirms nor denies that it is investigating these reports.”[73]

From today's NCA statement, quote lifted from Mr Banks' wiki page, feel free to follow the rabbit hole :)

[or to continue whitewashing this industrial-scale, Russian-schmootzing, Isle of Man-based tax avoidance specialist, makes no difference to me either way ; although I understand that this last one is still not a good look in the UK atm ;)]

Without massive thread deviation and in the pursuit of accuracy, it is worth pointing out that de Valera took the lead from the British 1938 Act which first used the term Ėire as a name for Ireland rather than the Gaelic goddess where the name originated. At the time, the British government refused to use the word ‘Ireland’ in any connection with the Irish nation even going to the length of insisting that the Irish Olympic team go under the name of Ėire at the 1948 Olympics in London.

Once again, I find it surprising that someone claiming to be a socialist is using and defending the use of a term so deeply rooted in British imperialism.

I take it you have never seen 'Saor Eire' daubed on a wall in the Six Counties by Republicans? Eire is simply the Irish Gaelic name for Ireland, and predates British Imperialism.

And that has what to do with brexit, the referendum or the Electoral Commission report which was being discussed?

According to FT reports, the U.K. economy now has risks associated with that of “emerging markets” and that Brexit is no longer the only threat to our economy.

In other words, we are being compared to the likes of Brazil, Poland, Greece, Czech Republic etc.

How this nation has fallen is pathetic and a disgrace.

I feel sorry for the Thomas Cook employees who have lost their jobs due to Brexit.

Doesn't anyone else?

I’m sure there are many on here who think that no price is too much to pay for Brexit but to be fair, Brexit was only part of the reason Thomas Cook tanked. Having said that, without Brexit they would have found it much easier to find the investment needed to finance the recovery.

What most leave supporters don’t seem to realise is that once we leave the EU we will step down a couple of leagues economically so not only will large failures like this occur more often but we won’t be in any position to even pick and choose which companies, if any, we save.

So much for taking back control of our own economy.

You tell me, you're the one who took issue with my reply #1789 to Mister M, that had nowt to do with you in the first place. If you don't want to know, then don't ask

We will NOT step down ANYWHERE.!

Quite the opposite.

We will be regarded as sure footed and determined.!

Not to mention we will be £350 MILLION pounds A WEEK the richer.

Do you WRITE headlines for the EXPRESS, for a JOB?

(you're already £600m a week down since March 2017, by the way)

Well that makes it only £250 million a week down, post Brexit.

Sadly not the case.
