Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

How many in the UK fishing industry do you think have lost their jobs since EU regulation?  How many whole towns have been decimated?

Do you really think that's going to change when we the EU? Tonnes of fish are going to magically reappear in the north sea?

Always useful to remind everyone what a red herring the UK fishing industry is, in the Brexit debate.

Many Brexiteers still have the same "they need us more than we need them" misconceived perception about the issue, as about German car manufacturers and Italian wine producers.

They'll make hay of the EU27 loudly putting fishing rights on the negotiation table (look, look, see, they want something we have, so surely they must need us more than we need them), completely oblivious to the economical fact that it's a non-deal-breaking troll, and that the actual negotiating battleground between the UK and the EU will be about getting the UK to subscribe to a dynamic (as opposed to bare) level playing field relationship.

Common Fisheries Policy was introduced to stop overfishing no? To allow stocks to replenish. What's the major market for fish landed in the UK?

Either way, those jobs are gone and are not coming back, and the loss of that industry is a tragedy for those concerned.

How does that justify the disregard shown for further job losses in other industries?

Yes, it is a tragedy.  It doesn't justify anyone losing their job in other industries.

I agree with the PM's stance.  You want it, you pay for it.

Personally I dont understand what all the obsession with one particular clocks striking machanism is about
