Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Watching the BBC News 24, "Dateline London", programme today, where they have foreign correspondents giving their views on the UK.  Speaking about the General Election result & the Brexit angle, US journalist / Telegraph journalist, Janet Daley, highlighted a point, that despite two strongly opposing sides in the Brexit debate, the 3 & half years plus of MP's delaying / disputing / denying the will of the electorate, despite the marches, the name calling on social media, the British people themselves didn't, unlike many other countries around the world, including our European neighbours, faced with similar political problems, consider out & out, physical assault on each other out on the streets.

Coming from an outsider, think that's something we should all be proud of?

Maybe because the end result will be a very minor change to peoples lives. In fact I am not aware of what will be different, once we have left.

Initially you’re right- for the envisaged year long transition period nothing much will change whilst the UK continues to operate under EU  directives. After that it’s up to the government so workers rights might go, food standards might fall, business might infiltrate all our social services. Who knows!!!

But once it's happened there's no turning back, that's why I don't like it, Just looking at the past records of Trump, the Tories, big business etc doesn't make it look good

Said the frog, relaxing in its slowly warming pan ;)

What will be different is glaringly obvious: Brits will no longer be EU citizens, nor enjoy FoM and its attenant trolley-load of benefits, nor enjoy the ambit of EU-wide primary legislation impacting their daily lives directly (e.g. free roaming across EU, professional qualification recognition, no customs personal thresholds, etc.) and indirectly (everything, from air travel legislation to meds/chemicals approval schemes, which eventually results in a cheaper and more convenient life through economies of scale).

If you think it will not affect you in at least some way...then you haven't thought it through enough.

After all that, though, of course it is your full and entire democratic right to push through with it, for the sake of whatever other anticipated benefits. And good luck to you.

The Express is just a guide for information , as are most newspapers, perhaps you should read more of them because you seem lacking.

I could never possibly enjoy them as much as your own elite (to whom Brexit will profit most, and will 'profit' least of all to the smaller boat owner-operators that make up the 77% of the UK industry with 4% of the UK TAC).

There's a silver lining for you :)
