I also saw the news about Nissan it’s ironic seeing Sunderland voted overwhelmingly to leave. But they also said that it’s now getting harder to sell petrol & diesel engined cars and this will make future sales more difficult.

Well they would say that. They seem to sell about 7500 cars on average a month. How many are electric? 25%? If they leave the UK they'll still be building petrol and diesel cars in the short term, they just won't be made in Sunderland.

I think they were pretty clear about the reasons - a no deal Brexit with 10% tarrifs.

"He said the company had war-gamed the consequence of various Brexit outcomes and did not believe it could offset the impact of 10% export tariffs on the 440,000 cars produced in Sunderland each year."

 

Hauliers aren't happy bunnies either - it's these 10% tarrifs again.
