Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Here in South Yorkshire, the EU spent a huge amount of money, on projects including the AMP at Waverley.

Not just grants to get it going, but research funding to keep it going.

Thanks EU! :)

Too late, they should have done it over 20 years earlier.Oh wait though, Thatcher would have turned them down so she could still have her showdown with the NUM.😣

The EU pumped 750 million into South Yorkshire in the early 90s to support the regeneration of some hard hit areas.

What did you expect them to do?

The cheap coal being sold cheaply to British manufacturing, largely came from Poland, Ukraine

But what is oft-forgotten (conveniently by a particular side of the debate), is that the EU gives the money for the regeneration projects, but that the national government is responsible for their delivery.

Same issue as with EU immigration: if you're looking to pinpoint failings, don't look to Brussels, look to Westminster.

Probably another 20 years indeed, until enough Brits have learnt enough about the EU and how it works (and did in years and decade gone by), to see the banana curvature headlines and similar populist misrepresentations and lies, for the chrome-polished turds that they are.

Hey-ho: you'll all get to know what you had. But too late. There's a silver lining to it however: there'll be none of the ra-ra'ing  Brit exceptionalism when the UK eventually rejoins :)

Definition of what an MP is?

MP's represent people's CONCERNS and INTERESTS in the House of Commons.

Just seen Clive Betts on Calendar from the Brighton Lab Conference questioned about Brexit and going forward?

Quote, "Although my constituency voted to leave, I'll be voting to remain."

In post #3288 you said that you were applying for Italian citizenship and moving everything out to the EU. Your exact words were "sod the UK".

So who's this "us" you refer to?

I am yes.

Thats fine - you can get out the door then with that attitude. No loss to us inside fortress britannia fighting over whats left.

Seems somewhat hypocritical given you are leaving the UK.

So Clive Betts is putting the interests of his constituents first. What is wrong with that?

Brexiteers, on the other hand tend to favour physical attacks, and death threats in their opposition to anyone who thinks that leaving the EU is a not a good idea.

And I’m not sure what your objection is to some Leave supporters being labelled as xenophobes, racists and bigots, as it is widely accepted that many of them are.

There has been threats and violence from both sides where opposing groups have on occasion come together in the street or abused each other online, don't try painting Remainers as whiter than white in that respect, that would be completely delusional, as for labelling, it is only widely accepted by those brainwashed by your own brand of  Guardianista type ideology. I suggest you and some of your cohorts are just as guilty, if not more so, of that lazy stereotyping that you frequently, self righteously, accuse others of when you post on here.

Jeremy Corbyn has defeated the Blairites in their push to make Labour a party of Remain.

Much standing and cheering "Oh Jeremy Corbyn!"

The Labour Leader is standing by his working class Leave voters, against the affluent middle class Blairite Remainers.

Maybe you could help us out then, by pointing out some instances of Remain supporters who have been convicted of making threats, instances where Remain supporters have been jailed for making death threats and Leave supporters who have been given police protection or told to move out of their home because of threats and abuse from Remainers.

And when virtually every racist, xenophobe and bigot supports Brexit you will struggle to successfully accuse anyone of stereotyping by saying that many Leave supporters are racists, xenophobes or bigots.
