Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Luxembourg has a population of about half a million people Why should our Prime Minister waste time taking part in press conference with a leader of such a small country?  It's ludicrous such a small country has an equal  vote to the bigger EU nations and can veto EU legislation.  It's like  Doncaster being allowed to veto UK legislation when the rest of the UK supports UK legislation.

That’s right.

He should just turn green and rip stuff apart.

Thats the way to get stuff done. Much better than being made to look a total dick by two European leaders in a row.

Possibly because he needs these people to get a deal before 17th October?

If half a million people had voted remain, rather than leave....

Half a million is quite a lot of people

The people of Luxembourg were not allowed to vote in the EU referendum.

As a member of the EU, the UK can also veto EU legislation despite having less than 12% of the EU population.

Your problem is.................................?

Not for the first time... you missed the point.

How about not being so rude about another sovereign country?

The protesters were certainly not allowed to vote in the referendum. However, they are going to be affected by it. I think that the PM should have heard their protests. Unless he was frit, of course.

It also makes a lie of the common Brexiteer claim that we are "dictated" to by the EU.

Well, we are in a way.

In much the same way that I’m being dictated to by a load of xenophobic idiots who fall for politicians’ lies.

Aparrently, that bit is “democratic”

Xavier Bettel made mention of the fact that Bozo was putting the interests of his party before that of the country. As that was a scripted speech, I assume that this comment was to be made to Bozo directly if he hadn’t legged it.

It also shows that EU leaders are not fooled one bit by Johnson and know exactly what’s going on. They also know that the majority of UK citizens wish to remain in the EU and repeated bleating about ‘the will of the people’ is so much hogwash designed simply for domestic consumption.
