What is to stop Parliament changing the rules to abolish all opposition parties?

No they really cannot. There are clear rules excluding police constables, various officers under the crown - armed forces, and until privatised for example British Gas employees.

Crucially idiots and lunatics - both terms with specific if outdated legal meanings are unable to stand too...

Mr. Boot can answer first he seems to know more about it than anybody else. Then the rest can form an orderly queue.

No, you are just being pedantic for the sake of it as always and dont like being corrected.

Which is basically pretty obvious as I doubt they would be capable of filling in the forms or getting the deposit.
