Northern trains are offering singles at 10p  on their trains in a Flash Sale.

Journeys in September onlyAs it started today some have run out.

Returns at 20p to places like Lincoln Hull Nottingam Retford etc are still available.

Great idea in principle but not so good and a recipe for overcrowding/conflict when the brain-dead and chancers try to use these cheapo 'operator specific' bargains on faster services run by TPE, EMR, LNER  etc.

Heads up folks... on 19th August Northern went live with a flash online sale for travel throughout September with advance single fares available from just 10p!

Limited numbers are available on selected trains. When they are sold out the offer is over so you need to book asap. Tickets are only valid for travel on the train time chosen, no refunds or change of travel plans allowed.

 

Travel is only available with Northern. Destinations include Blackpool, Manchester, Lincoln, Scarborough, Cleethorpes, Nottingham, York, Leeds, Hull and Carlisle.

They don't exactly make it easy finding 10p tickets do they??? Spent time wading through destinations, dates and times to get nowhere.

They were easy to find when they first went on sale yesterday. Principle of a flash sale is you grab the bargains there and then before they sell out!

 

I'm having a day out in Cleethorpes for the blues festival there for 20p return! I booked that in the afternoon yesterday.

 

its worth noting that in some cases there may be other train operators providing faster journeys so use the link at the bottom of the screen that opens up slower trains that may be cheaper.

 

Also of course a 10p ticket in one direction and a normal advance booking deal in the other direction may still be a bargain!

Thank you Annie for sharing this . I bought 2 tickets for last week and had a 3 day holiday in Scarborough and Whitby for 20 pence travel.

The Sunday train was on time and half empty and the return was similar on the Wednesday.
