Not saying that's likely at all, but in terms of honours, a league cup win separates our two clubs for anyone alive today. I'm 25 so I wasn't even around. Serial failures really, Wednesday have been marginally better for most of your lifetime, and the Blades have been marginally better for most of my lifetime. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wilder's done a fantastic job but he needs to drop this sort of thing now, trying to appeal to "Bladesmen" too much.

I think any team that manages to put together a consistent spell in the Premier League is going to be  considerably at an advantage over others that don't.  That's just a fact of life based on the huge difference in revenues between the Prem and the other divisions. 

 

The concerning thing for any club not in the Premiership, is that the financial gap is getting wider all the time.  Over the past few seasons I heard some Blades coming out with things like, "no rush to get back to the Prem", "consolidate in the Championship then move on" and "be quite happy to stay in the Championship".  People who come out with such comments have no concept of how the football world is changing.  It is an imperative to play in the top division, as soon as possible, if financial security and long term survival, in some cases, are to be assured.

 

United have spent 12 years away from the big time.  Wednesday (despite all their delusions of grandeur) have spent almost 20 years away from the top flight. 

 

United have a modern, up to date, stadium.  Wednesday have a theatre of rust.

 

Whatever your allegiances, there is no argument whatsoever that United are the city's top team and what Wilder is saying is that he'd like it to stay that way for years.  He didn't say United "could" do it, or "would" do it, he just said he'd like it to happen.

 

Well...it's happening. 😀

Can not believe it is 20 years where as that time gone?Having said that it seems longer since the Blades were there strange really.Looking forward to the match do not know what to expect .Looking at Bournemouth on match of the day they looked really good which makes the draw we had look really good .Villa were chasing the game for most of the time and after spending all that cash you would of thought they should have won this one.

You were doing quite well up to the “modern, up to date stadium” bit, when was the last time you went 1976?

 

Neither club has anything to shout about stadium wise except both are better than the soulless concrete bowls that pass as grounds these days.
