Why does the SAR / Coastguard helicopter land at Parkwood springs still?  Is it too big for the hospital landing pads?

I believe that is the case, yes. The weight limit is 10 Tonnes at NGH and the Sikorsky 92 is 8-9 Tonnes I think so that probably makes it unsafe to land there. The air ambulance is less than half that weight.
