Grayson ( Mary Jane - Israel )

Recommended Posts

Hello to you all ! I was wondering if anybody could help me ? Im trying to get a photo of my dads birth mother, as all photos of her were destroyed by my grandad, maybe a relative on her side has one ? Her birth name was Mary Jane Grayson , father Israel Grayson, married Harold Phillips but she died in Sheffield 1943/44 of consumption when my dad was only 9 months old, my grandad Harold Phillips remarried soon after, and all photos of the wedding and Mary Jane were destroyed , my dad didnt find out until relatively late in his life about his birth mum, and i would love to get him a picture of her before he shuffles off this mortal coil ! Dont even know which school she went to, one in Attercliffe i presume as thats where she grew up, I know its a long shot, but you never know ! Thanks for reading

A bit more information may help you- Mary had a brother Israel and one Edwin - Edwin died in 2000 in the Worksop area.  Israel married Kate Thompson in 1940  he died in 1974  she died in 1979- but they both may have had children so worth looking for them.  I will have a search!!

I am Grayson born,  there were quite a lot of Grayson's round Sheffield at that time. I will ask around the family, and see if anyone knows anything.
