Fernando Forestieri Handed Six-Match Ban For Racist Language.

Recommended Posts

Fernando Forestieri has been found guilty of using racist language in the match last year at Mansfield and been given a 6 match ban. So the FA don't agree with the court of law and found him guilty, if he was guilty as they say then why was it that a court of law did not find him guilty. Are the FA saying they are above British Law?

No, but they're a professional body with their own standards to uphold.

Do you think footballers should be allowed to use racially abusive language?

No they shouldn't but is there any proof he has? By sounds of it the other player he's said he has and they went along with it.

If he did say whatever was alleged then he can't complain but I've nothing, even in the court precedings where there was solid evedence like a recording

It's he said, she said with no evidence-FF is right to appeal.

On another matter, I don't think it's a big loss!

Agree on both points, might be a kick he needs to get playing to his best

the reality is that the judicial system requires the case to be proven beyond reasonable doubt whereas the FA  simply works on the balance of probabilities.........insufficient evidence was available in the criminal case hence not guilty......why on earth the CPS brought the case in the first instance  knowing this lack of real evidence  beggars belief .....suspect they had to toe the PC  line.....where FF has some sympathy is that it has taken 4 months to reach this point .......the infamous John Terry case took just 2 weeks after the  finding in his criminal case .......none of us know the real facts but FF has a ban .....will appeal and more likely the FA will dismiss this too.....that is how they work although do they have to refer such appeal to an independent board ,,,,if such exists in their shadowy world. As Nervy says this ought to be the last dice for FF and he needs to get on with his football and keep out the headlines for wrong reasons

The FA can take further action if they consider that FF walks with one foot in front of the other, or if he breathes air, or if he looks at someone more than twice in a game, or if he considered using derogatory words, considered using racist language, homophobic language, speaks Spanish, speaks Italian, blows his nose, is assaulted by a defender and is floored,  falls on the grass AT ANY TIME, or attempts to defend himself in any way.

In short, their available reasons to use their powers are hundreds strong, so it doesn't take them long to find a couple to throw at some misdemeanour or another.

The Rules (or is it Laws) of the game Sir, is an Ass.

I suppose the Rulemakers, on many, many thousands of pounds a year, HAVE to do something once in a while.

FF has always been an easy target for them.

ONCE AGAIN, THEIR ACTIONS ARE NONSENSE.

If love to know the reason why FF has got a ban yet Firmino has got away with it. Is it because one plays in the premiership but the other doesn't.

As you say hotty the law is an ass(fa law anyway). I'd have no complaints if there was actual evidence

just in case anyone has time for a read here is a link to the recent FF case which is hard work at times but yet to me provides no real evidence that the balance of probabilities

has been proven by the FA...rather the supposedly independent commission simply seem imo to have jumped to conclusions very coincidentally on the smae day the FA's minimum

sentence was increased to a 6 matches ban with al the usual publicity......also make your own mind up as to whether the panel was independent or not by maybe researching the 3 members background.

Whilst not condoning racism in football  at all there is concern wrong decisions will be made just to beef up the numbers.........given an appeal has been lodged then surely the sentence could/should have been kept under wraps pending the appeals outcome .......were it to be the appeal is successful then nevertheless there will be plenty who will still call him a racist ......he cant win either way ......ched evans springs to mind

Six weeks is bit

severe (Eric Cantona got six weeks for much worse). There are players out there who's instructions and intentions are to deliberately impair an opponent by whatever means possible, where is their six weeks ?
