and that is specifically for use as a Taxi and not a consumer deal??  because it looks exactly like the figures from the Tesla uk site to me.

 

You can't use a leased car as a taxi unless you have a specific agreement in place to allow it, which is obtained from specialist leasing firms.

And all the results (including the above taken from Tesla's own lease plans) have 'taxi' missing from them, indicated by the fact that the word is struck-through. 

 

BTW, according to your Lord and Saviour, Google, the average taxi driver covers 30k miles. So your 24k lease plan falls 6k short.

Apart from taking about 12 times as long, yeah, basically, the same...  Perhaps you could check how many supercharge stations are in Sheffield and compare it to how many "basically the same" petrol stations there are?

We need a big change, a Caz free to ultra low emission vehicles is a big change.

The simple solution is charge every vehicle that enters the zone that doesn't qualify 

 

Which would hopefully eradicate all the traffic problems around Sheffield 

 

Then you might see more people walk ..run.. cycle..

Even public transport would stay busier which should keep costs down

Big investment in public transport to get people out of their cars

Councils to accept and finally fix terrible road schemes that create congestion and pollution instead of solve it.

 

Perhaps even the government to stop forcing investment to be centralised in city centres, is anyone surprised that if you try and force everything into the city centre you end up choking on the pollution created by people trying to get there?

Wow...Taxi drivers will be purchasing £40/90k Teslas... 

 

And Sheffield City Council will continue unabated at the Veolia site... 

 

Producing 3,500,000m³ a day, of gases @ 180mg of NOx per m³...

 

Who says Tesla doesn't have a 'Tailpipe in the City'... 

 

This isn't a Renewable energy source this is a complete failure to recycle... 

 

This council keeps acknowledging, heat produced from the plant, heats 21 buildings...

 

An if you don't mind me saying, the worst CO² and NOx footprint of any buildings in the world... 😱

 

This is apparently 'Background Pollution'...

Fair dos, definately hire purchase and no obvious restrictions - but I am looking on my mobile so some terms May apply, but on HP they don't care as much as you own the car at the end of it. Considering I read somewhere a new ford fiesta starts at £15k now brand new, it's not a bad deal.

 

But you've still issues when charging. When I turn up at a petrol station I'll be able to fuel after, at the most, 5 minute wait, and be on my way in less than that. Can't say the same about turning up at an electric charging point. There aren't as many and it takes a long time. Commuting to and from work? Makes alot of sense. Taxi - and other forms of business transport? Not quite yet.

A bit of a strawman, no one has suggested doing nothing, yet.

 

Taxing 1.5% of the vehicles on the road, when most non-hackneys are amongst the newest and cleanest cars on the road seems a bit daft. However... as said before...

This is what will happen deam.

 

They're just doing it this way around (i.e. taxis buses and goods vehicles first). Otherwise there would be uproar, and the council would be voted out next time around.

 

This way, they can get the cameras up > blames the tories (as they did at the meeting) > not fight this at all, because they'll lose green votes > then once up, start introducing more vehicles into the charge.

 

The whole loaded page and questionnaire is written in a way that leads people to think that this is a good thing, just because it mentions children's lungs, deaths / clean air in the opening piece, it won't really alter anything.

Of course in the online pamphlet for public isn't too forthcoming with details like this.

 

Interestingly, although the veolia page has lots of info, it is quite sketchy... e.g. the monthly figures just show 'THE % OF EMISSIONS LIMIT' - however, it's hard to find what the 'THE LIMITS' are - I had to google that to an EU page, which says the the levels are set at 'the gas in mg / m3'... and nothing about how much of it you can spew out?! Perhaps you or someone else knows.

Also, let's not forget buses. £50 per bus per day.

 

I'm sure there are some bus experts on the forum. Any idea of how many this is roughly?

 

Cllr Scott said taxis and buses could not put up the prices to compensate. Although they can restrict hackney fares, can they do this with buses?

 

PHV taxis will put up price to compensate, I would think buses will too... does anyone think they will encourage people out of their cars?
