Being able to banter with some patients doesn't mean that something can't be offensive to others though.

We're still missing the example though...  What kind of thing is it that someone who is too PC doesn't find funny, but should?

I agree Cyclone some people take offence so easily . But subjects like Vegans ,Religion ,Obesity ,Receding Hairline

Oh Halibut I can't possibly do that , I don't want to get chucked off when I only joined yesterday .

So we can safely assume there's no substance in your original post. Cheers.

Why on earth would you assume that?

So witch says "Can't believe people get so offended these days by jokes"

You say "give me an example"

Witch says "I can't because I might get banned".

How does this do anything other than support her original claim?

I wouldn't say that.

There are plenty of examples of people rushing to take offence to jokes by people like Frankie Boyle, Ricky Gervais, Jo Brand just to name a few.

Give us an example then - of a funny joke that would offend the PC brigade.

Yeah - one of them's funny, the others just a grubby little fat man airing his prejudices like it's still the 70's.

I have to say , apart from & when it's appropriate , I hasten to add , having a laugh with the patients is good , but so often I have to be deadly serious in my job . So when I am out of work , I love having a good laugh , but working in the NHS does give us a very " dark " sense of humour that not everyone gets , but I think it's sometimes a coping mechanism because of what we see & deal with at work . But ,in my opinion , some folks just have had a sense of humour bi pass because of the way we are all supposed to be sensitive to peoples feelings all the time .  Well , I am sensitive when I need to be , but when I don't I am certainly not .  If people don't like , I just think oh well ,never mind . 🤣

No, doesn't work - I said 'a funny joke'. That's just a cheap racial stereotype. Did it make you laugh?
