Baron99   779 #15 Posted July 28, 2020 Surely a pub this good will be taken on by someone at some stage & open again? https://www.thestar.co.uk/business/sadness-another-sheffield-pub-falls-victim-coronavirus-pandemic-2926071
 Share this content via...

chris101 Â Â 10 #18 Posted July 31, 2020 Bad reporting by The Star the lease for the pub is available so to say it's closing is a bad headline.
 Share this content via...

Think it was an old thread that was revived. Perhaps mods could change the title before the pub loses anymore custom?
 Share this content via...

I’ve changed the title to a more generic one.
 Share this content via...

He was down to play for Accrington Stanley A v Man City B (or AS reserves v Man City A)- but Stanley went bust a day or so before the game. He used to have the letter from Stanley to the secretary of his team in Sheffield - thanking them for agreeing to Les being released to play for them - in a frame on the pillar by the bar - near the corner where Les used to stand when "working".  Les and Sue were a smashing couple - hope to see them again when I'm back in England.
